Chickamauga Battles 2.1.2

The first major battle of the Civil War occurred in Georgia from September 18th to 20th, 1863. The Battle of Chickamauga marked a significant Union defeat in the western theater and ranks second in casualties among all Civil War battles, following the Battle of Gettysburg. Under the leadership of Major General William Rosecrans, the Army of the Cumberland clashed with the Confederate Army of Tennessee led by General Braxton Bragg.

In early September, Rosecrans effectively ousted Bragg's forces from Chattanooga and pursued them southward. Attempting to reclaim Chattanooga, Bragg sought to engage a segment of Rosecrans' army in order to secure the city once more. However, his plans were disrupted when encountering the Union army on their way north.

This historical game comprises multiple missions, with each addressing a crucial aspect of the overarching battle. The 'Battle of Chickamauga' mission offers a comprehensive reenactment of the entire battle within a single gameplay session. Given the extensive nature of the conflict, this final mission operates at a broader scale compared to the more detailed individual actions.
